The stoves are noisy, there's an explosion potential, the stoves are cranky as all get-out, expensive, repair-prone, fussy . . . the majority of outdoor people swear by them when they should be swearing at them.

Boy, we can get a discussion going here! Remember folks, we're talking high summer, not marginal seasons!
I first would like to have some sort of raingear. A poncho would probably be OK for many uses, so long as it's a good one, made of something like rubberized nylon. There are better answers, but you have to remember that somehow raingear has to be ventelated, or you get as wet inside as you do outside. So -- a gore-tex or other paddling jacket that can do double duty as a rain jacket has its place.
Beyond that, I'd want some clothing that can provide warmth when things get wet. There are a lot of people out there muttering "cotton kills", and cotton does have a place in the wardrobe, but not here. You need to have, somewhere in the gear, wool or fleece or polartec shirt, pants, jacket etc., to provide some warmth for those dank, dreary cold days that we don't think ever come, but always seem to, especially when I'm the one that's doing the camping.

Not off the top of my head. There was a good one posted on Paddlewise a month or so ago. I might get around to cleaning up my list -- it's a little disorganied -- and posting it some one of these days, or putting it on my website.
