Hi All,
Greetings from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I am a longtime wilderness and whitewater canoer. Kayaking just seemed to be a natural progression. I happened upon this BBS while researching what kayak to buy and never looked back. I have built a 19' Baidarka designed by Eric Schade of Shearwater Boats. The building experience was very enjoyable although slower than I would guessed. A young family will do that to most projects though.
I've thoroughly enjoyed paddling the Baidarka and have done lots of great trips with it.
There is nothing like paddling a boat you've built with your own hands.Ken
