As Craig said, you get a better feel for your body orientation after awhile. Just keep rolling, practicing. Never capsize in the setup position. Always capsize in some new and unfamiliar manner.
Experiment with various kinds of rolls--don't get locked into a "set" style. Blur the distinction between a screw roll and a C-to-C roll. Reverse sweep if your forward sweep roll doesn't quite get you there.
Plan to come up on a particular side after you're inverted, and scull your way up. You'll feel your body break the surface--it may take 2 sculls, it may take 10.
I don't wear goggles or a mask much anymore, but I did wear a mask alot when I was learning new rolls. Wear the mask and concentrate on good form and hipsnaps. When your muscle memory is developed so that rolls are effortless, take off the mask, and get back to the disorientation factor. Don't start the fight against disorientation before your rolls are burned into muscle memory or you might start some bad habits.
