: Can't help with the legal aspects of paddling as such, wrong country, but for
: your and yours peace of mind, bring/wear a PFD and tell people you know
: when you're going out and when you are due back.
: Distances are dependent on your skill level.
: Regardless of rules, if you see something big coming at you, get out of the
: way. They may not see you and we're more manuevrable.
: If you haven't paddled before, take it easy and try to find a kayak club
: nearby. They can tell you exactly what you need to know on
: Federal/State/City regulations.
: Oh yeah, sun screen. Trust me on the sun screen. 
Reflected sunlight will
: burn you as fast as direct sunlight.
: Most of all, enjoy yourself.
