: probably remember the thermal reaction when the water was added.I saw this procedure recently on the PBS show "Rough Science". The task was to make hand warmers from natural materials. Limestone was crushed, heated then placed in small plastic bags after it cooled. When water was added, it created so much heat that the bags melted!
