Yeah, I realize plastic ain't gonna be fast, but it is all I can afford at this point. (The Exporer I am looking at is used, thus with in my financial means.)

Thanks for the link on building a boat. I will look at it. Whether I use it for racing or touring or whatever, it sounds like a fun project.

It's a kit kayak, yep, you have to build it, for $1300 CDN, comes in a
: complete kit, you can build it within 4-months of dedicated effort, one
: month if you know what you are doing and have lots of time, and can carry
: enough equipment for a couple of weeks of roaming around.
