: In plain english the rule means either show the same lights as a sailboat
: (red/green sidelights and a 120 degree white stern light) or use no lights
: but have strong flashlight available to shine to oncoming boats. This site
: has a nice picture example:
: http://www.kayaktrips.net/sea-kayak/000566.html In Rule 23, power vessels
: under 7 meters with a maximum speed of less than 7 knots may use the
: all-round white light. Since kayaks aren't power vessels this doesn't
: apply and we shouldn't use the all-round light. Now that's exactly how I interpret it,,paddle dark and unlit with a strong flashlight (2-4C cell dive light, 4-AA halogen light) and NOT in any traffic way OR the red/green/270white light.
