Shawn...

It seems to be pretty simple really... goes something like this... hang down... extend the paddle straight down gripping the blade near your chest area... place the blade at about a 30 degree angle from vertical... and just ever so slowly roll around and up using the resistance of the water against the paddle... maybe scull it a smidge... one smooth continuous motion... no snap... no layback... just a deliberate smooth roll.

Now that ought to be easy as pie in that beautiful Guillemot kayak of yours!
