: Yo, yo, yo... what's up with this??? Is that a C*A*N*O*E paddle in your hand
: or have you just completed a vertical storm roll in surf???Nope--just stern-ruddering. The blade is hard to see, since the blade is lined up with the camera angle.
I do practice "canoe paddle rolls" with one half of my spare paddle. Once up, I usually maneuver around to pick up my primary paddle--using a "canoe paddle" in a kayak sucks!! It's do-able, and I've practiced using it in case I ever was down to only one broken half of a paddle, but it's not the most fun thing I can think of. I think the canoe stroke really benefits from a higher seating elevation.
I never did figure out the vertical storm roll--my SK mag subscription started a month after that issue came out. I'll have to see if I can borrow that issue. Everybody's talking about it!
Safe paddling,
shawn
