Useless for Paddling???

: about useless for paddling.Let's think about this... My L'Ocean PFD has no waist seal. I attach my sprayskirt to my wet suit UNDER my PFD. The Ocean Parka has no waist seal. So I would attach my sprayskirt to my wetsuit UNDER the Ocean Parka. The advantages of the Ocean Parka or sea coat are comfort, additional warmth, facial (facial wings) and head protection (hood)... less physical bulk, more and better pocket storage, much better visibility (ANSI 107/EN471 Class 2) in both day and night, greater bouyancy (40 lbs. vs. 15.5 lbs.).
Why would that be useless? Sounds like a great paddle jacket/super PFD to me. Indeed, the parka can be greatly improved with a little "customization." With some seam sealing tape and a good sewing machine, there is no reason why one couldn't add a neoprene waist seal and double tunnel. Heck... you could easily add latex gaskets to the wrists, and a neoprene seal to the neck. Then you would have one hell of a sea coat.
If you started with a bomber-size sea coat, you wouldn't have to shorten it either.
I'm liking the idea more and more. Why am I wrong about this?
Safe Paddling!
