I just finished building the NH S&G and I can tell you that its stability is wonderful, it turns easily for an 18' kayak and you can use it for weekend camping/kayaking. Nick has posted plenty of pictures and videos of himself using it for ocean surfing. Me? I have managed to get it surfing easily of small lake waves. The kayak wants to surf and responds well to fast straight paddling or more twitchy handling. I thought my old Waters Dancing Lightning 17 was a solid kayak: Nick's NH design is both solid and far more fun.
