When rafting, the "rafter" can set up a bit forward of the "reliever" so they're not sitting there looking right down into the cockpit, commenting on shrinkage problems in cold weather.

: First, make sure you have a relief zipper in your outfit - drysuit, wetsuit,
: or whatever. Otherwise you have to disrobe too much.: In warmer weather, wearing just shorts or a swimsuit, paddling with friends
: just means you may get a bit closer than usual or than some or comfortable
: with. Have your partner stabilize your boat as they would doing an
: assisted rescue, while you pull yourself up a bit and take a leak into a
: bottle. Don't forget to dump it overboard. Actually works very well for
: females as well, but you need a wider mouth container and some of your
: female friends may think this is a bit too close.: If you're solo and conditions permit, try a paddle float outrigger with your
: spare paddle.: Seriously, this is an important issue. Some longer paddle days don't lend
: themselves to stopping for a beach break. I've been in the boat as much as
: 12 hours and if you don't drink you're in trouble. If you do drink, you
: gotta go.: Roger
