First, make sure you have a relief zipper in your outfit - drysuit, wetsuit, or whatever. Otherwise you have to disrobe too much.
In warmer weather, wearing just shorts or a swimsuit, paddling with friends just means you may get a bit closer than usual or than some or comfortable with. Have your partner stabilize your boat as they would doing an assisted rescue, while you pull yourself up a bit and take a leak into a bottle. Don't forget to dump it overboard. Actually works very well for females as well, but you need a wider mouth container and some of your female friends may think this is a bit too close.
If you're solo and conditions permit, try a paddle float outrigger with your spare paddle.
Seriously, this is an important issue. Some longer paddle days don't lend themselves to stopping for a beach break. I've been in the boat as much as 12 hours and if you don't drink you're in trouble. If you do drink, you gotta go.
