thanks for the info,
in this and above posts. I've been interested in finding out if there are circumstances when something useful can and should done, reflector-wise. Seems like real poor visibility combined with smooth seas would be it.
:....But on the other hand every little
: bit can help. I'd say it really comes down to you. Either way let me know
: what you do, and how you decide to do it because I'm interested in how you
: go about setting it up.At the moment I think I'll just carry some metal foil and half dozen safety pins in the boat - this is for the hat. They'll take no room at all so why not. This is the "every little bit", and then hoping that if it suddenly gets really foggy, maybe those with radar will be watching their screens also.
For the case when I know in advance that I'll be crossing a busy shipping lane (at 90 degrees of course) I'd probably crush some six-seven cans and string them on a rope running to the bow. On deck. They might give a good reflection to the side, ie. along the lane that I'm crossing.
Neither trick would cost nothing, take no space, nor impair my rolling.
Does this sound like useful?
greetings,
risto
