Don,
I just got a Warmers Neo Cap w/ visor for Christmas. It does have a fleece lining. I also always carry a windblock fleece headband. I found the headband takes away the shock (for me) of going into the cold waters of Puget Sound.
On my last trip, I wore a polypro t-shirt, followed by a thin neoprene ski shirt, then 100 weight fleece with a dry top over that. I had Warmers neoprene gloves on my hands, heavy neoprene shorts and nylon pants, plus my neoprene booties over thin wool socks. We turned back early because of rough conditions. I would not have wanted to end up in the water in that storm. I'm wanting to add a pair of fuzzy rubber pants, and some neoprene mucklucks.
I still need to spend some time in the water in my paddling cloths to make sure that I wil do okay. The short times that I have spent so far were okay, I wasn't super comfortable, but I've had no trouble getting back into my kayak.

: I just got a neoprene/fleece pullover hat, with the chin strap attached.
: Kokatat maybe? It's thin neoprene and thin fleece, but stays on tight.
: Water does get into the ears though. Also got some neoprene booties for
: xmas, havent tried them yet. Fuzzy rubber underneath a standard paddling
: jacket? That sounds worth looking into, thanks!
