: I just love low tech things. I have a very comfy backrest that is 2 inch
: thick ethafoam. I have a hand pump but had a hard time bracing in
: whitecaps while pumping. I did see a k1 racer with a no hands foot pump.
: Just push with one foot and the water goes out. Does anyone know where I
: could purchase this pump because I would like to pump and brace.Check out the following links for foot and deck mounted pumps:

http://www.thomasregister.com/olc/bosworth/page2.htmThe Baby Foot Pump Mk2 could be used, but it's capacity is rather low. However, it's small and light enough that one could conceivably mount two of them in the boat (one for each foot) and have a redundant system in case one fails. A single pickup and a single exhaust port could possibly be used
The Compac 50 is the standard under-deck pump. I have one in my Nordkapp. It's a high capacity pump that empties the cockpit quickly. I can hold the paddle in my hands while operating the pump lever, but it's not as convenient as a foot pump. I'm considering making a new handle that incorporates a yoke similar to an oar lock. That would allow me to keep my hands at or near the normal paddling position while operating the pump. If I needed to brace, the paddle would be instantly available. Even in it's current configuration, it's still more convenient and effective than a hand-held pump.
The Bosworth Guzzler 400 foot operated model is large enough to be used on it's own and it seems to be about the most widely available and popular foot pump. It's also reasonably priced.
The Henderson foot pump is commonly used on British boats. I haven't found any information on it on the web yet. It's expensive (~$150), but apparently works well.
