In Response To: East Coast Cruise (Mark)

Hi Mark,
North Shore Paddlers Network http://www.nspn.org/NSPHome.html does winter trips from Boston to Portland Maine. You might check with them, but they have strick requirements for safety gear including drysuits. Depending on winter conditions usually the only place to put in here in Maine is tidal effected strong enough to take away the ice at the ramp. the ramps up river or in sheltered areas usually have enough ice on them that the only way in is a seal entry down the ice and getting out only at a high enough tide to avoid the ice. We get some pretty extreme tide changes, at times you could be looking at a 12 foot tide change. That a long icy slope to try and drag a kayak up! You could also check with Maine Island Kayak Company. Hope this helps! http://www.maineislandkayak.com/
