: Good day,
snip: I have a pair of sunglasses that I use for kite-boarding that are more like
: goggles. They are small like sunglasses, but have a strap like goggles.
: What I really love is that they have pads that raise them from your face
: and you don't get the oil from your skin or your suntan lotion all over
: the lens of your glasses. I really hate when that happens. They work great
: for kayaking, and they don't have temples to break off and stick into your
: eye!!!: Regards,
: Malcolm
: P.S. Wear a helment, which would have saved me all this grief. Now I wear a
: brain bucket when surfing near rocks. In deep water it stows on deck.Hi Malcolm and Ed,
I usually use my cycling glasses for kayaking on bright days. They're a single lens, very impact resistant, (flying stone-proof at 40kph) with a padded frame and nose-piece. A bit awkward with a hood but workable.
Ocassionally I use a Seal-Mask but they can fog up slightly in certain conditions. They don't cover your nose, so breathing isn't restricted like a dive mask. Good for clearing your sinuses when you capsize.![]()
The helmet is a good idea around rocks. I try to avoid those things, rocks and boats don't mix. Although kayaks tend to bounce off them instead of sink.
