: When the paddling gets really good, there's no interest. Looking at this
: board it seems that folks just STOP paddling in the winter. In the Pacific
: Northwest sea kayaking effectively stops. I love skiing, but I'd sure
: encourage folks to paddle in the off season. Quiet, no bugs, fun water
: conditions. Do so safely though. Have a great winter.

I paddle all winter in Mass as long as there is no ice on the Upper Charles River. It is a great time of year to paddle. Not much fun for self rescue practice!

I hit the coast when I can too, but don't wander far from shore - too few boaters out if I get in trouble solo.
