I fully expect to get blasted for the first part of this post, but here it goes anyway. I'm a beginner to the sport with only a couple of months in the boat and seem to be the only sea kayaker within 50 miles of my home. This situation forces me to be a solo boater as a companion can't be found to accompany me during the 2-3 sessions weekly. All due care is taken to approach the sport safely in my solo situation: quiet, shallow water, populated area, all safety gear, etc. My query to you experienced folks is as follows:
I practice bracing, sculling and manuverability exercises in my sessions. I don't feel comfortable practicing rolling alone. Can anyone detail more drills and exercises to help my techniques along, that I can execute solo safely? Extensive reading and web surfing haven't given me any help. Thanks in advance.
