I saw a K-1 carbon racing kayak at the Mid-Atlantic Small Craft festival and the owner says it did work. It was and Elvstrom (sp?) Bailer. I have one in my Lightning (17' racing day sailer) and it works well, though I never think to use it as the boat is pretty dry.
