Storm Paddle Leash

: I can certainly see where a leash could be a problem when
: doing a sliding stroke with a storm paddle, though.Every thing you said makes sense.
I've only handled a storm paddle a few times, but maybe here's an idea for a leash.
The storm paddle is used by sliding from one side to the other with the inside hand place near the ctr. If this ctr hand hold area was two hand widths wide, attach a 1/4in bungee at the ctr with the cord coming off the backside relative to the front face of the blades. Attach the bungee to your pfd belt( yah, the same as before!!!) with about 14-18in of play.(use a barrel lock to adjust exactly the right length). Make it so the bungee just stretches a bit under the wt of the paddle, so it springs back slightly to the other side at the end of the stroke. The leash may also serve as a little hand stop for sliding into the other side. Might actually make a storm paddle much easier to use.
an idea. I haven't tried it w/ a storm. But the location is ripe for all those other rescues I experimented with before.
