Hi George,
: The key to paddling "hard" (relative to your condition) all day
: long is taking care of yourself - Don't get hurt, don't get hungry, don't
: get thirsty, don't get cold,Words of Wisdom! Like a long distance runner you must constantly monitor your body so that a little twinge doesn't turn into a nagging pain and on into a debilatating injury.
If you get thirsty it is too late you are in a dehydrated state.
If you get hungry it is too late, it takes your body too long to convert the food into usable energy.
If you get cold much of your energy will go into warming instead of paddling.
An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure!
