Agree with all of the above 100%. Keep at it, and focus more and more on the hip snap and driving the knee. Greenland paddles are great for rolling, and you'll quickly adapt. By the way Jed, I had a beer with George Gronseth the other day and we chatted about teaching styles. He, like me, approaches each student differently depending upon a number of variables. There are the absolutes, which must be adhered to, but the sure sign of a beginning instructor is absolutism. Not suggesting this is anyone on this board, which I have enjoyed, just the jist of our discussion. Have a great winter ya'll. By the way, just returned from Barkley Sound BC where I paddled a Romany 16 in 12 ft. swell and clapotis. BIG water. What a terrific kayak in that stuff! I love that boat for coastal paddling!!!! Anyone have experience with the very similar, but better built Dagger Meridian?
