I've never seen anyone use a canoe paddle in a kayak.

However I think it is something every one should do at one point! Paddles do break and if all you've got is half a paddle ...

I feel strongly that everyone should practice their "J" strokes from time to time. You don't even need a canoe paddle to do it, use your regular paddle and simply paddle on one side.

Try it some time!

On the other hand I have seen kayak paddles used in canoes though!
