: But what in cm terms do you think is "too long", and how much would
: you shorten it? And how does this "too-longedness" make itself
: felt? just curious.I was looking at that paddle last night. It isnt more than an inch longer than the current favorite. I'm not sure how long that is, a little higher than I can curl my fingers over with one blade on the floor. What's too big is the blade area. It's even bigger than the whitewater paddles, and when you add the standard length to that it seems too long. I think I'll trim the shaft a little, and make the blades a little smaller. But before I do that I'll try it like it is, I suspect it'll feel like grabbing the dock. It's featherd, too, and I've been leaning toward the greenland type of paddle.
: This is interesting. What is the spray-skirt like - suspenders, draw-cord,
: ... or is it a neoprene job?The best fitting skirt I have is a strohlquist nylon one. I think it's a medium. It holds well, but will pop off if I try to lean out of the boat. I have noticed that with the skirt popped, rolling gets less water in the boat than wet exiting does.
