: One could use both kinds: go back to the power blade if the boat gives
: trouble, but always push on as it gets easier.I could try that, but I'd have to build another paddle. Perhaps I can add a take-apart fitting to my old one.
: The boat matters greatly: beam, volume, rocker, shape (are the ends up-swept,
: etc)... Back-rest, knee-pads, hip-pads, ...I understand, at least partly, how the boat affects it. This is whats confusing because the CLC should be the harder boat to roll. But it's not. Once you get it past being 'upside-down' it wants to come upright. It's pretty easy to fall out of either boat, though the hip pads in the CLC do have some curve in them and the SpringRun pads are flat. They hold pretty well side-to-side but its the knee pads that keep me in the boat. My son doesnt know it yet, but his Walrus will have a low rear deck....
Off Topic, he actually stood up in the CLC yesterday! I couldnt believe it! I cant do that!
