Conceptual orientation

Hi Greg,
: many analytical types have a hard time with this and will insist on ...
: understand(ing) the spatial concepts of the rollBeing a strong analytical type I certainly had a hard time visiualizing all the body contortions, even though I've had extensive experience with 3d spatial conceptualization. What helped me was to not visualize myself sitting in the boat but to put my conceptual visual frame of reference below the boat. As if I were sitting on the bottom of the lake/pool looking up at the kayak.
An other thing that disorients is when you make the kayak do a complete 360 degrees rotation (ie. you roll over on one side and come up on the other). Like you describe it's easier to slowly lower ones self down on the same side that you roll up on.
