Roger. I don't know who is getting macho. In past posts I have stressed the need to be flexible to different styles. In a response to Jed I mentioned the Greenland style of lying back and suggested that maybe us white boys are creating our own stuff. So if it sounds as though I'm defensive it's because though I am an advocate for skills I'm the last guy who's gonna say one roll is superior to another. Now, what is worth noting is that the very low volume greenland kayaks are much easier to roll than the average high volume, wide, touring boat. This is precisely why folks who are into skin boats often build very low volume narrow boats strictly for playing and rolling. I'd like to build one, and I'm excited to see the greenland influence comming on so strong. I think it will reshape some of our thinking for sure. MH
