emergency roll order of attempts

: I have a Skerray which I taught myself to roll this summer. I can do a screw
: roll repeatedly off both sides, but can't do it when really tired from
: paddling. I also doubt if I could do it when knocked over with no chance
: to set up above the surface. Is a c to c roll better in an emergency? I
: just discovered this board and it's great! MTSome of the instructors here will give some better advice. But to start off - and it all depends on conditions. First off the c-c - cause its quickest and least paddle movemt, second the screw - getting a little more paddle movemt and leverage here, third either an extended roll or a non extended scull roll - getting some additional or more continuous leverage, fourth a fully extended bracing scull - the most leverage and continuous leverage.
If the water is moving relative to your yak whether from front back or sides, if you are on the ball simple non moving braces often will get you up and then the order of pref gets screwed up.
