I first learned to roll last year in a Chesapeake 16 (not LT). For the past year most of my rolling practice has been in a kevlar CD Extreme (19 ft length, 21" beam, rounded hull - tippy) which is about 10 pounds lighter than the Chesapeake. I have gone back to the C16 several times this summer to check my rolls. The only major difference I have found so far is that the height of the rear deck tends to make the layback on a sweep roll more difficult on the C16. You shouldn't have the same problem with your LT. The Extreme is more forgiving of sloppy technique than the C16. The main difference in rollability may be mental. When I am upside down in my C16, it seems that I have to reach up further to get my paddle above the surface of the water compared to the Extreme. For some reason, in the beginning that bothered me and affected me when setting up for a sweep roll. The Extreme is probably an easier boat to learn to roll, but any roll I can do in my Extreme I can also do in my Chesapeake 16. Enjoy your LT. I built my C16 just before the LT' s came out. The C16LT would have been my first choice if I had to do it again.
