That is what I tried (unsuccessfully I guess) to say.

Is there a unique solution for the size and location for the skeg? If a 5 square inch skeg 1 foot from the stern eliminates the flow under the keel, could a 10 sq in skeg 3 ft forward of the stern possibly also do the job. Is the drag of the two skegs equivalent?
