tacking to windward with a klepper

First of all I need advise on the best technique to "go about" when sailing into the wind with a Klepper Basic with S4 sail set. I normally sail single handed and up to force 4.
I have tried a small amount of rudder, a large amount of rudder, easing off to develop a bit of speed before I go about but nothing helps. The bow will not swing through the wind. I have to resort to a couple of paddle strokes to swing the bow. Any suggestions
Secondly does anyone have experiance of using leeboards with aerofoil crossection on a Klepper. The Dutch flat bottomed sailing boats use leeboards with various aerofoil profiles. Will this work on a klepper
