i don't know what "heel/hook" rescue is BUT there is a method of re-entry from a basic t rescue that kinda sounds like that...
so okay, swimmer in the water, you assess real quick and determine it's safe for you to perform a rescue...okay, get to scene, swimmer hanging onto back of his/her boat, you get the boat perpindicular and then grabbing the bow, pull up onto your deck...roll her over to empty of water and slide boat back into water in a bow to stern aspect....you have swimmer come along outside of his boat, stow the swimmer paddle and...(and this is the part that sounds like the heel/hook thing you mention)...
swimmer floats on back in water with head towards his/her stern...have them then raise their OUTSIDE leg and HOOK their leg under the foredeck of their boat. using that leg as a lever, they can then essentially roll themself up and into their boat. with the OUTSIDE leg hooked, they even HAVE to roll towards you once their up. it's a pretty slick re-entry.
is that what you're talking about?
: A couple times the heel hook rescue has been mentioned on the board. I can't
: find a full description of it anywhere on google, or in books. Can someone
: give a detailed description? Thanks!
