: There is nothing particlarly "manly" about loading a kayak. Use a
: blanket or foam pad for hatchback, use an extention bar (a.k.a. outrigger)
: for any car, use a low car like those Subaru, rather than SUV. Will be
: easier on wallet too, with todays gas prices.Maybe the extension bar works for some boats, but my Storm, with its high bow, almost fell off the extension bar twice before I took it to the dump (the extension bar, not the Storm!).
In an ideal world, we'd all have cars that make loading boats easy. In the real world, I need a station wagon, which is a real pain for cartopping, and a Ford, because that's the only dealership in the area.
