The boat is an '03 I just bought brand new. The seat has foam stuffed under it and I would say there is about an inch or more between the seat pan and the hull. My girlfriends NGD Romany has no space under the seat. I would not say the Pintail is overly tippy, but I think getting my weight an inch lower would be a good thing. The only reason I can think of for having the seat be as high as it is is because of the rocker, but I am not sure.
