That is exactly what I want to avoid.

So you think a 20 inch beam is still too big for the under 10 or 11 set? One of my bigger decisions here seems to be whether to get one boat for ages 7 to 14 or two boats in succession over that same time period.

As for building a boat for him, my problem isn't time, it's space. I live in a small cabin and have no access to a shop or garage. John
