A paddle company not mentioned often but having great paddles is Aqua-Bound Technologies. The owner built up Nimbus kayak company, sold it and decided to build a paddle stronger than Werner (main maker at the time), same weight at two thirds the price.
I have had good luck with them in my kayak rentals and classes. No breakage like I had with Werners.
Their carbon fiber is cheaper than Werner's fiberglass and way stronger. The narrower "tripper" blade makes a good blade for kids.
I know R.E.I. carries them and a lot of shops. If there is nothing local, you can order it thru a dealer and have it shipped to you. There is a good review on the Mariner Kayak page under their paddle section.
They have their own web page also to check out.Randy
