Excellent info, Sing. Thank you very much. I'll check out the Carolina 12, Episea, and Pilot, too. One of the things I'm looking for is a boat with a beam width that is proportionate to a kid's body, and all of these boats seem about right. As for boat length, it seems like most of these boats run in the range from 10.5 to 14 feet. I was thinking something in the middle of that range could last him for many years of growth. Any thoughts?

I'm also looking for a kid-sized paddle. What did you find worked best for your sons?
