BINGO! That's exactly it, Sing

I used to freeze up any time I knew I was going to drive my car into another. Done that a few times although not in the last 10 years. Now, I make a quick assessment and find a way through, so far I've avoided being hit many times and avoided hitting a few times. Thinking about scenarios and remaining hale and healthy and without paralyzing fears will help one to find a pathway out of a problem in most cases.
I think this kind of thinking is critical for kayakers of both WW and Ocean types. There are all kinds of situations that we can find ourselves in that can endanger ours or the lives of others. A quick thinking kayaker can avoid trouble early on or find a way through a difficult path. In this case, forward thinking is a necessity. It would be useful if there could be some way to teach this in kayak courses.
