I have this radio and it is a great unit. One thing to beware of is this: You can have the unit on while in the charger and montitor channels but DO NOT press the transmit button while it's in the charger. I did this and ruined the charger, apparantly the charger does not supply enough power to transmit and it blows a diode in the charger or something. I later read in the manual that it does say not to do this, but it should say it bigger and really stress this because it's easy to do.

Overall I highly recommend this radio.
