: These vertebrae are very close to the sacral disk: you absolutely DO NOT want
: to do anything to injure that disk. Injuring that disk will and I repeat,
: will cause you endless amounts of pain that no end of drug therapy can
: minimize. My wife injured the L5/S1? disk and depends on opioids for pain
: management with no possibility of a cure. She is miserable because of it.: Get more opinions to be absolutely sure of what you are suffering from. A
: swiveling seat can minimize torso rotation but if your spinal issues are
: already at critical mass you could be tossing sparks at a pool of napalm.
: Confer with your doctor about the risks using a swiveling seat. Honestly,
: this is one road you wanna be careful walking along.: Robert N Pruden
Your post here prompted me to ask my docter a few more questions. My L5-S1 is damaged but not as severe as L4-L5. I also have some damage to cervical joints and they don't bother me at all. I was dissappointed to be told that I should not expect the 12mm slippage between L4-L5 to get better, it will probably get worse with time. My pain is not caused by missalignment but by the compression of disks. Apparently there have been many surgeries to fix alignment problems that didn't result in stopping pain.
