I've bought three Attwood Waterbusters,,the rubber button cover doesn't last long,(seal it with aquaseal or similar as the screw on rubber switch cover isn't 100% waterproof once it unscrews), if you leave it in water after running it'll siphon water into the case once it cools down. If you drop it the case will break.
But,,replace the three D cells with three 2volt D cell lead acid batteries and it'll scream. I had one for a year and the motor didn't burn out. The rate of gpm is higher than you can hand pump.
So it's an ok compromise to a heavier pump but I'd be temped to make my own with a small drybox/pump combo that can be put in/out quickly. That was the advantage to the waterbuster that you can put it in/out. Attwood could make a more durable one with better seals and a 4.5amphour battery that could sell for $100.
