Hello,

My girlfriend and I am marine biologist from Germany. Since several years we have focused on the Chilean fjord region and since October we are working permanently on the new Huinay Scientific Field Station in the fjord Comao. There was an article in the “Seakayaker” in which this fjord was called “Chile’s most beautiful fjord”. We absolutely agree with this. We hope it stays this way and not all the fjord will be covered with salmon farms like some others...
We are also very enthusiastic sea kayakers and would love to explore more of the region by kayak.
We have a double folding kayak, but it wears off too fast at the barnacles and the rocks at the station. Therefore we are looking for polymer single kayaks. Due to the fact that there is only a very small market for sea kayaks in Chile, second hand stuff is practically not available. New kayaks are offered only with very few models (mostly no real sea kayaks) and are expensive.
Therefore we are looking for sea kayakers who plan to come to Chile. If you know of someone who plans a tour in southern Chile and who would be interested in bringing a polymer-sea kayak (e.g. a Necky Looksha IV or equivalent) and selling it after the trip please send us a contact information.
Of course we could also provide this person with first hand sea kayaking and Chile tips and can help planning the tour.
Or do you know who might ship sea kayaks to Chile?
Or could someone provide us with information which airlines accept sea kayaks as oversize luggage and how much this might cost?

We would be very grateful if someone could help us with this.
