Rainbarrel pumps, on the other hand, pump 5 gallons a minute, which is a little slower than a hand pump, but getting closer. But they aren't completely waterproof.
I don't want to rely on a hand pump, since it seems useless in rough conditions. But all the directions for retrofitting a foot pump or marine electric pump that I come across in Sea Kayaker seem extremely complicated. And I don't want to go sawing holes in my kayak. Is there a foot or battery powered pump out there that can be fit simply, without chopping up a kayak, that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars? I've searched the web and can't find anything.
