battery powered water pump *LINK*

Has anyone thought of trying one of the new battery powered water pumps designed for those huge water jugs as an emergency backup for your kayak? They cost $14.99, run on two D batteries, pump 300 gallons of water (on one set of batteries), and look an awful lot like a standard hand pump. For $15, it might be interesting to try this out. Check out the picture on the link below--it actually looks like the water intake tube might slide down neatly through your sprayskirt tube, and the outlet would clear over the cockpit. $15 is a lot less expensive than electric pumps designed for kayaks. I have no idea how fast they pump the water.
