Ya'll still don't get it

No apology coming. I know the rules...aced the USCG Rules test when I got my masters license. If you read the information it says that you must have an all around white light that can be shone in time to avoid a collision. NOT to be shone all the time. It is true that you can display regular running lights, and I've never disputed that.
Some time ago people were posting info about all this and stating that their local CG auxilliary was condoning it. I forwarded the posts to USCG District 13 and chatted with an officer there. He stated that the info was indeed incorrect, and that all CG or affiliated orgs. should rely solely on the Rules, which are clearly stated. Unfortunately there's a lot of vague info out there. But a copy of the Rules is easy to obtain, and they are the last word.
So, when ya'll want to attack my knowledge on this stuff do so after you've passed the exams and hold a license. Doesn't make me better, or smarter. Just informed. My frustration comes from people who willfully do whatever they want.
So flame on at me...I like it.
