I have a Spyderco folding dive knife tucked in my PFD pocket. I agree it's there for real trouble and nothing else (never been used paddling yet). It has a serated edge which I have found to be the best for line cutting. I have cut through 3" plus nylon hausers when working dive jobs no problem and still razor sharp.
