I'm going to take this in a slightly differnt direction. If I feel that it's necessary to pack a knife on my PFD that knife is my last resort when things turn shitty. Using it for anything other than it's intended purpose will dull it or leave peanut butter caked on the blade and it wont cut as well as it could. I've a stainless swiss army knife that goes in the pouch on my dry top for any of the uses I might have for a knife. The one on my PFD has not been used but if it's ever needed it WILL be SHARP.
