So just because someone builds a wing paddle and sells it, I can't make one? Sorry, that doesn't work. Mass production does not preclude home builders (it should actually encourage them). I'm not going to toss 5 kayaks, 15 paddles, 3 spray skirts and two tuiliks in the trash just because someone else makes them for a lot more money. Shawn didn't say copy a premade paddle, he said make a couple of wing forms for one off paddles. That could be done (the master for the mold) with foam or wood or any number of materials. I don't advocate copyright or patent theft, but I can make a paddle to lend to someone to convince them it's the greatest thing ever and sleep like a baby that night. I try to feel bad about having made all of the above stuff for about the price of two wing paddles, but I just can't. Hopefully their kids will get to college without my money.
